Methodology

As part of the teaching we follow pedagogical approaches in accordance with the latest valid State Educational Programme for elementary art schools approved by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic and supported by the Framework Educational Programme for elementary art schools in the Czech Republic:

  • project-based learning based on task sequencing

  • new most modern art alternatives and concepts

  • emphasis on inter- and trans-subject relations, i. e. complex cognition on both rational and spiritual levels

Our school curriculum emphasizes the harmonization of personality:

We introduce art education to our students as a complex way of learning about the world by including all components of personality such as sensibility and rationality, intuition and intellect, imagination, temperament, conscious and unconscious mental activities.

Our education system has its own curriculum and structure:

  • it is vertically divided into thematic cycles - circuits

    and horizontally into educational themes - art problems

A specific feature of our school is how works of art are presented

The polyvision (multimedia) method in school and at exhibitions is a strong motivational element with the didactic intention to show the diversity, distinctiveness, and effectiveness of children's artwork in one thematic concept.
